The song 'Je Kota Din Tumi' from Srijit Mukherji’s Baishe Srabon (2011) won many hearts for the way its lyrics involved the little joys of love and companionship. In the sequel Dwitiyo Purush (2020), the reprised version of the song 'Je Kawta Din', composed, written and sung by Anupam Roy, gets a rather sombre tone. This time, the female counterpart has been rendered by Iman Chakraborty.

Pictured on chief detective Abhijit Pakrashi (Parambrata Chatterjee) and Amrita Bhattacharya (Raima Sen), the song still retains the nostalgia of fresh romance shared by the couple. The song begins with the two, who had their share of bitterness in Baishe Srabon, getting hitched in Dwitiyo Purush.

However, their marriage begins to suffer from the very first night as Pakrashi, like always, prioritises his profession. While Roy’s lyrics continuously remind of the brighter days of their relationship through recalling memories, the visuals show how the couple drift apart and misunderstandings create a rift between them.

Pakrashi is always much more engrossed in solving the crime that is driving him crazy. He fails to fulfil the duties of his marital life and Amrita turns into a loner.

The trailer of the film, released last month, showed that Mukherji has taken the thriller to a different level from where it ended in Baishe Srabon, as it incorporates much more violence and psychological rigging of the characters.

Dwitiyo Purush features Anirban Bhattacharya as the antagonist and Rwitobroto Mukherjee will also be seen playing a crucial role in the thriller.

Dwitiyo Purush is slated to be released on 23 January. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
