The teaser of Rohan Sen’s debut film Ebhabei Golpo Hok (2020) features actor Joy Sengupta in a pivotal role. The film also stars Santilal Mukherjee, Rupanjana Mitra, Ananda S Choudhuri and Bibriti Chatterjee in crucial roles.

In the film, Sengupta plays an unsuccessful filmmaker, who primarily prefers the thriller genre. He wishes to come out of his comfort zone and direct a love story. His personal crisis in family life creates hurdles in his way of making one. He gets hold of a script, through which he attempts to embark on his mission, but the writer refuses to allow him as it narrates his own journey and crises.

In the teaser, Sengupta, in a drunken state, is seen to be expressing his wishes of making a film to his assistant, played by Mukherjee. For him, a love story is synonymous to a story of humanity. Sengupta seems unnecessarily loud and overdramatic in his drunken avatar on screen.

Mitra, seems to be playing his wife, and is not happy in relationship with her husband. She complains Sengupta of not giving enough time to her and it shows that Sengupta has been a failure in sustaining both his marital relationship and career.

Bibriti Chatterjee plays the partner of the writer, played by Ananda S Choudhuri. The teaser carefully doesn’t reveal much regarding Choudhuri’s narrative and the reasons behind him talking about the crises in life. On the other hand, a glimpse of Saswati Guha Thakurta’s dialogue suggests that the film has a narrative of multiple layers.

Ebhabei Golpo Hok is slated to release this January. Watch the teaser below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
