Nostalgia can be a powerful tool, and quite creative if used well. Gagan Puri's next film, Doordarshan, captures the power of memories and nostalgia that can bring even the most dysfunctional of families together. The funny trailer gives us a glimpse of some very interesting moments that could make for a fun film.

The trailer begins with a clash between the parents (Manu Rishi Chadha and Mahie Gill) who are suing for divorce. While they bicker over the papers, the children are caught up in their own growing pangs. In the midst of all this, and left alone, is the comatose grandmother (Dolly Ahluwalia), whose sudden awakening disrupts everything.

With the doctor recommending that the matron should not be shocked into the current world, the family sets out to recreate the late 1980s, complete with its broken television and Doordarshan. The only problem is that this means the warring couple need to revive their marriage and keep the peace.

The trailer's highlights are Mahie Gill and Dolly Ahluwalia, who steals the show as usual. While some of the jokes feel a little forced, the concept does have the potential to make for an interesting watch.

Written and directed by Gagan Puri, the film also features Rajesh Sharma, Mehak Manwani and Manoj Bakshi. Doordarshan will be released in theatres on 28 February. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
