The trailer and music of Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha’s upcoming film Sraboner Dhara (2020) was launched at the Calcutta Cricket and Football Club (CCFC) on 17 January, in the presence of actors Parambrata Chatterjee, Gargee Roy Chowdhury, Basabdatta Chatterjee, music director Ashu Chakraborty, vocalists Rupankar Bagchi and Iman Chakraborty, and lyricist Durba Sen. The film features veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee as the protagonist.

Sraboner Dhara tells a serious story on relationships, relating to the treatment of an aged Alzheimer's patient, played by Chatterjee. According to Sen, the narrative revolves around existential crisis.

“When I first watched the film, I was in trance for some time. There are elements of romance in it as well. We often lose ourselves, or our identity to be precise, while staying in a relationship; and nothing is more painful than losing oneself. Sudeshna Di and Abhijit Da have portrayed this crisis in the film with amazing finesse," the lyricist stated.

Sen sought help from the directors while identifying the layers in the narrative and added that the film will push the audience to question things, instead of merely getting entertained.

Chakraborty stated that as a music director, he faced lots of challenges while working for the film. “Both I and Durba Di are newcomers in the industry and I am grateful to the director duo for trusting us for the work," Chakraborty said.

For Bagchi, working with the director duo has always been special, because he could get the opportunity to work as a music director only with Roy and Guha. He also congratulated Chakraborty, as one of the most promising music directors of this generation.

Sraboner Dhara is slated for release on 7 February.
