Veteran actor Dipankar Dey, actress Dolon Roy tie the knot


They were married in a private ceremony at a restaurant in Kolkata, with a few close friends, on 16 January.

Veteran actor Dipankar Dey, known for his performances in Satyajit Ray’s films Jana Aranya (1975) and Ganashatru (1990), and television and film actress Dolon Roy married on 16 January after spending many years in a live-in relationship. They were married in a private ceremony at a restaurant in Kolkata, with a few close friends, including theatre and film personality Bratya Basu.

The veteran actor was not keeping well that day; but recovered during the ceremony. The next morning, he was admitted to the Apex Nursing Home due to breathing problems.

“He caught pneumonia last month and his treatment is going for the last one month. He hasn’t recovered fully," Roy stated in an interview with television channel NDTV Bangla.

The actress, who lamented that she could not enjoy the wedding celebrations for long, said preliminary check-ups of the veteran actor has been done. Dr Angshuman Mukhopadhyay will treat him now.

Roy, was last seen in filmmaker Vik’s debut film Buro Sadhu (2019), as Ritwick Chakraborty’s mother.
