Love Aaj Kal Porshu song 'Shune Ne': The video is appealing, but the tune lacks melody

Every frame oozes with romantic ambience and primarily focuses on the two artistes either adoring each other or expressing their love.

Roushni Sarkar

'Shune Ne', the first song from Pratim D Gupta’s upcoming romantic drama Love Aaj Kal Porshu (2020), is a treat to the eyes. The refreshing representation of romance between Arjun Chakraborty and Madhumita Sarkar has a very modern approach. Both characters have been rendered with apt looks for a love story that is appealing to the audience, especially the younger crowd.

The song has also been shot with a lot of aesthetics. Gupta has made sure that every frame oozes with romantic ambience, primarily focusing on the two artistes either adoring each other or expressing their love. It is quite apparent from the visuals that Gupta believes in the idea that when love is in the air, everything around seems magical and beautiful.

Chakraborty looks quite appealing in his bare-bodied avatar while Sarkar looks refreshing, too. However, Chakraborty does not seem too convincing when lip-synching with the song.

Coming to the song itself, the tune composed by Arindom could have been more melodious. It falls short in reflecting the chemistry between the couple featured in the video. Dev Arijit and Nikhita Gandhi, too, don’t seem to add much to the composition as their renditions do not sound passionate enough.

Prasen’s lyrics have a fairy-tale-like charm, but the composition does not express their essence to the fullest. Had Gupta given as much importance to the tune composition as he has to the visual conception, the song might have become one of the best romantic numbers in recent times.

Love Aaj Kal Porshu is slated for release on Valentine’s Day, along with Imtiaz Ali's Hindi film which is titled Love Aaj Kal and stars Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan. Watch the 'Shune Ne' song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
