The Lakeside Doc Festival (LDF), in association with the Habitat Film Club, is organizing the LDF Doc Genesis Lab from 16 through 18 January at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

This hands-on mentoring workshop is aimed at creative documentary filmmakers whose documentary ideas or projects in development will be assessed. Aside from filmmakers, film students and enthusiasts are also encouraged to attend as observers to the process.

LDF is a niche space for benchmark and award-winning international documentaries in a non-metropolitan setting. Located at The Lake Resort, overlooking the Naukuchiatal lake in Nainital, Uttarakhand, the festival offers an unparalleled viewing experience where the focus is on unadulterated screening time without distractions.

The festival has had seven editions till date where 94 documentaries from 37 countries have been screened. It is presented by Formedia, a not-for-profit foundation set up to promote high-quality creative content in the media and the non-governmental sector.

The LDF Doc Genesis Lab will include a series of screenings followed by discussions on the films moderated by filmmaker Vandana Kohli. For more information on the workshop click here.
