Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor overcame cancer last year after a long battle. Fears of a relapse broke out among fans after the actor was admitted to a hospital in Delhi a couple of days ago. Quite a few unconfirmed reports stated that Kapoor has had a relapse of the dreaded disease. However, the actor has now rubbished all such ‘news’ as rumours.

Taking to his official Twitter page, Kapoor wrote, “Dear family, friends, foes, and followers. I have been overwhelmed by all your concern about my health. Thank you. I have been filming in Delhi past 18 days and because of the pollution and my low count of neutrophils, I caught an infection whereby I had to be hospitalized.”

In another tweet, Kapoor took a slight dig at the news reports that said he has had a relapse. “I was running a slight fever and on investigation, doctors found a patch which could have lead to pneumonia was detected and is being cured. People seem to have assumed a lot different. I put to rest all those stories and look forward to entertain and love you. I am now in Mumbai,” he said.

Reports had also stated that Rishi's son Ranbir Kapoor and his co-star Alia Bhatt rushed to the hospital where he was admitted while leaving all other commitments. The actor did not mention anything regarding this issue.

As far as work is concerned, Kapoor’s upcoming film titled The Intern was announced just last week. It’s the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood film of the same name and features Deepika Padukone alongside Kapoor.
