Angrezi Medium song 'Nachan Nu Jee Karda': Radhika Madan breaks free in this hip revamp by Tanishk Bagchi

Angrezi Medium might just turn out to be the much-needed medicine for these dark times. The emotionally uplifting trailer from Homi Adajania's film is followed by a peppy soundtrack. The latest song, 'Nachan Nu Jee Karda,' is just as uplifting, and has one grooving to its very earthy Punjabi beats.
The song is an update on the original 'Nachna Aunda Nee' by Kaka Bhainiawala. This version is composed by Tanishk Bagchi, with vocals by Romy and Nikhita Gandhi.
The song is featured on Radhika Madan's young student, who breaks free of all rules and dances her heart out in a library. As the beats of the song kick in, it is hard not to join Madan as she goes through every move in the handbook, albeit quite amateurishly. She epitomises the fun element in dancing, where one need not look good, but just feel good.
Like most Punjabi numbers, 'Nachan Nu Jee Karda' has the right energy and a hypnotic beat, which is irresistible. Bagchi is getting quite good with revamping songs. He does it by retaining the original structure, and then embellishing it with additional accompaniments.
Romy and Nikhita play off each other very well. Even though it is not a traditional duet, it works well in their voices. The playfulness and lack of inhibition on screen just adds to the joy of the music.
Angrezi Medium features Irrfan Khan, Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepak Dobriyal, among others. The film will be ready to release in theatres on 13 March.
