Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal confirm plans of marriage, 'working towards official registration'


The couple are reportedly planning for a ceremony this April.

After months of speculation, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have finally confirmed their upcoming nuptials. The couple have released a statement from their official spokesperson confirming that they have initiated the official registration process, and are looking forward to a wedding in April or May. 

The statement reads, "Currently, only the date for the registration has been taken. By process, the window that is valid is for three months from the date that has been allotted. The couple are working towards an official registration in the last week of April post which the celebrations will follow. All we can say at the moment is that it’s a happy occasion and all the parties involved are elated.”

The statement has now confirmed that the couple have applied for registering their marriage. While the process might take months, it is speculated that the couple have already finalised their wedding dates.

A Hindustan Times report quoted a source as saying, "It will be followed by a court marriage and a reception. Ali and Richa’s families are from Lucknow and Delhi, respectively, and they want all of them to be a part of their joyful day. The Lucknow reception will be on 18 April. The reception in Mumbai will be for close friends and the date for which has not been locked yet. Ali and Richa have been checking out venues. In all likelihood, they will choose 21 April for [a] Mumbai reception."
