Durgavati is the official remake of the Telugu film Bhaagamatie (2018). Anushka Shetty had played the leading role in that film. The story is about an honest Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, who finds herself entangled in dirty politics, while solving a case. It leads to her being locked in an old, haunted bungalow, where she has a frightening experience.
The film is directed by G Ashok, who had also directed the original Telugu movie. Duragavati is produced by Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, Abunduntia Entertainment, and T-Series
