Actor Jisshu Sengupta will play a single father in Windows Production House’s upcoming film Baba Baby O.

The project was announced on social media via a motion poster on Christmas. Aritra Mukherjee, who made his directorial debut in Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti (2020), will helm the film, which will be written by Zinia Sen.

While the producers, Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, are yet to reveal the rest of the cast, they confirmed that the film would be a romantic comedy. In the poster, Sengupta can be seen standing between two infants in strollers, suggesting that he is their sole caregiver.

“Baba Baby O is another exciting subject that our successful team of director Aritra Mukherjee, writer Zinia Sen and dialogue writer Samragnee Bandyopadhyay will be attempting. It is based on a novel concept and is sure to capture the hearts of our audience,” said Roy, while speaking to the IANS news agency.

Recently the producer duo had another feather in their cap with Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti being selected for the coming edition of the International Film Festival of India.

According to Mukherjee, his intention is to bring joy to the audience. “We are going through a difficult phase. The situation is very gloomy. During the lockdown, when Zinia came up with this story, it made our entire team smile from ear to ear. The film is an intense love story though it’s wrapped in humour,” he said.
