The inaugural Filmfare OTT Awards saw Paatal Lok, The Family Man and the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Raat Akeli Hai win big. The lockdown induced by the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lack of films compelled Filmfare to honour the OTT series that dominated the entertainment section this year.

The directors of the Amazon Prime series Paatal Lok, Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy, won the Best Director (Series) Award while actor Jaideep Ahlawat won the award for Best Male Actor (Series).

The Family Man's helmers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK bagged the Best Director (Critics) Award while its leading man and lady Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani won the Best Actor and Best Actress in a Drama Series (Critics) respectively. The show also won the Best Series (Critics) Award.

While Amazon Prime led the way, Netflix was not too far behind. Rahul Bose and Tripti Dimri won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Web Original Film (Male) and Best Actor in a Web Original Film (Female) for their performances in the period drama Bulbbul, which was directed by Anvita Dutt, while the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Raat Akeli Hai won the Best Film (Web Original). Siddiqui also won the Best Actor award for his performance in the thriller directed by Honey Trehan.

This ensured that all key members of the Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) team — Bajpayee, Ahlawat and Siddiqui — walked home with a trophy.

Mithila Palkar and Dhruv Sehgal won the Best Actor (Female) in a Comedy Series and Best Actor (Male) in a Comedy Series (Critics) Awards respectively for their performances in the Netflix series Little Things Season 3.
