Shree Devi Phataka to be Bodhi Tree Multimedia’s entry into feature films


The Marathi film will mark the directorial debut of Navin Chapade, who has also written the film.

Bodhi Tree Multimedia has been in the business of producing television serials and web shows since its inception in 2013. The company is now set to present its first feature film, interestingly titled, Shree Devi Phataka, in Marathi. 

Sharing details about the film, Sukesh Motwani, director and Chief Content Officer, tells us, “This is a film we shot a few years back actually. It’s a very, very sweet film. It’s set in a chawl in the 1980s, during Diwali. It has got a very lovely set of characters and is an optimistic film about a certain era in the lives of the characters. It’s a story of just one day."

Shree Devi Phataka will mark the directorial debut of Navin Chapade, who has also written the film. “He was working in advertising in Australia and is a newcomer to the field,” said Motwani. 

Speaking about the release date of the film, he added, “We are still evaluating whether to release the film directly on OTT platforms or not. However, we will take a call on this post the lockdown.”

Two of Bodhi Tree Multimedia's web-series, Marzi and The Raikar Case. were released this year.
