The 24-year-old basketball player Satnam Singh Bhamara is a hero to many. At 19, he became the first Indian to be selected for the National Basketball Association (NBA) of the United States. He represents India internationally and was even part of the Canadian league, NBL, for the 2018-19 season.

Now, Zee Studios will bring to the screen Satnam Singh's inspirational journey for its online platform, ZEE5. The studio is currently developing the project, and the film will be exclusively streamed on Zee5.

The young player was keen to see his life unfolded cinematically. "It feels unreal that a film is being made on me! As a sportsman, I have always loved films based on sports, and I feel honoured that this film is my story. What excites me most is that this is a basketball film, the first of its kind [in India]. I hope that the film will boost the game and more kids will want to try it out. There is huge potential for the game to grow in India, if only more people come out in support of it," Satnam Singh said in a press release.

Ashima Avasthi, the head of Zee Studios Originals, said of the film, "In our country where basketball has miles to go before it enjoys the same kind of popularity that cricket does, it’s time we encourage other sports; Satnam Singh’s extremely difficult yet heart-warming journey needs to be told and celebrated. We are excited to work with him on this film!"
