Housefull 4 song 'Ek Chumma': Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol go begging for a kiss

Composed and sung by Sohail Sen, the song has lyrics written by Sameer Anjaan.

Even with the film being under the shadow of #MeToo, owing to former director Sajid Khan, the first song from Housefull 4 seems to revolve around the same ethical conundrum every hero in the 1980s would face.

The song 'Ek Chumma', composed and sung by Sohail Sen, features the three leads Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, and Riteish Deshmukh hankering for a kiss from their three leading ladies.

The song has all the subtlety and nuance of a David Dhawan feature, and captures the style, glamour, and flair of the early 2000s. From the sight of Akshay Kumar's salt-pepper hair to Bobby Deol and Riteish Deshmukh playing the clowns, the Housefull4 track has quite a few familiar motifs from its earlier versions.

The composition fares much better to the context. Sohail Sen infuses Arabic rhythms with a very Indian beat that makes it quite catchy. Add to it the vocals of Altamash Faridi, Sen and Jyotica Tangri, and you have a song worth playing.

It is the lyrics of Sameer Anjjan that make it a bit cringy, but the rhythms overtake the feel of the composition.

Considering the film is a comedy that goes all out on the reincarnation front, the song might just be the garnish on the specatacle backed by Sajid Nadiadwala.

Housefull 4, directed by Farhad Samji, and is set to release this Diwali on 25 October.
