Fans awaiting Dharma Productions first foray into horror, Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship, will have to wait till the turn of 2020. The film has now been moved to 21 February 2020. Featuring Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar, the film was initially scheduled for a release on 15 November 2019.
Apoorva Mehta, Dharma Productions' CEO was among the first to tweet out the information on his social media page.

The decision comes weeks after the cast and crew announced the wrap of their shooting schedule. The team finished shooting for the first part of the story on 6 September, earlier this month.
While the reasons were not clarified by Mehta, fellow producer Karan Johar's tweet ensured that there was no doubts surrounding it. Johar declared that Dinesh Vijan produced Bala was moving into the 15 November release date
The Further GOOD NEWWZ ( pardon the plug) is that my friends funny, poignant and mazedar film #Bala has a new date which I am proud to announce to all of you! And it’s a week earlier! #DineshVijan @ayushmannk @bhumipednekar ! The new date is 15th November 2019! pic.twitter.com/ghXdL1jrC4— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) September 20, 2019
Johar also clarified that the change in Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship release date might be down to an extensive post-production work required.
The tides have changed!!! Even FEAR needs precision! And for that we need the time to scare you sufficiently and efficiently! #BHOOT has a new date !! The 21st of FEBRUARY 2020 ! SEA you then and try and help @vickykaushal09 escape this haunted ship! And some further news ...... pic.twitter.com/iXTsiEuJcW— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) September 20, 2019
Directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship is set on a haunted ship moored in the sea. The 21 February release date implies that the film will clash with Rumi Jaffrey's thriller Chehre (2020), which features Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi.
Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana's Bala (2019) ensures that the film will be his third release this year. With both Article 15 (2019) and Dream Girl (2019) performing above expectations, the actor is primed for peak performance at the box office.
