Aparajita Ghosh Das plays an important character of Annada Didi in Pradipta Bhattacharya’s upcoming film Rajlokhi O Srikanto (2019). The actress also appeared in Bhattacharya’s National award-winning debut film Bakita Byaktigato (2013).
According to her, the modern adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel Srikanto, is a multi-layered film.
Rajlokhi O Srikanto features Ritwick Chakraborty and Jyotika Jyoti in the lead roles. Chakraborty has essayed the character of Srikanto and Jyoti will be seen as Rajlokhi. Actor Rahul Banerjee will also be seen in the crucial role of Hukumchand and popular RJ and actor Sayan Ghosh has enacted the character of Indranath.
A lot happens in the film and according to the actress, there is the immense possibility of getting entirely engrossed in the film while watching it. "I think any form of art should have this quality and this film has this quotient in abundance," the actress commented at the music launch earlier this month.
The actress stated that her experience of working with Bhattacharya has always been quite unique and the process starts from the script reading session.
She said portraying her the character of Annada Didi was quite challenging for her; however, she did not want to disclose much regarding the challenges she faced to keep the anticipation for the film alive. "I think the audience will thoroughly enjoy the film," she stated.
The songs of the film have been composed by Tanmoy Sarkar and Anirban Das. Satyaki Banerjee has done the background music.
Aparajita feels that each and every song in the film is quite rich in the terms of its lyrics and compositions. "Not only the songs, the background score of the film is equally thought provoking and is worth listening to with attention," she added.
Rajlokhi O Srikanto is slated for release on 20 September.
