Drive song 'Prem Pujari': Sushant Singh Rajput, Jacqueline Fernandez glitter in this wedding song

The composition by Amartya Bobo Rahut sounds like any other Punjabi wedding track, however.

Drive's latest song, 'Prem Pujari', is an over-the-top wedding song which seems completely on brand for this Dharma Productions film. The lead stars, Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez, glitter in silver, outshining even the bride and groom in this number. They dance to perfection with wide smiles, but it does little for this bland number.

The grand production style is in the same vein as the previous song from Drive, 'Karma', but this particular number just fails to connect. The composition by Amartya Bobo Rahut sounds like any other Punjabi wedding track. The pulsating dhols and electronically enhanced voices, while modern, don't elevate the song.

Rahut contributes to the vocals along with Amit Mishra, Akasa Singh and Dev Arijit. The lyrics by Siddhant Kaushal are actually quite nice but don't get the required support from the score. The rap portion by GD 47, picturized on the priest, also in gold, is just bizarre.

Drive will be streamed online on Netflix from 1 November. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
