Last weekend the Hindi box office wore a deserted look as films like Laal Kaptaan (2019), Ghost (2019) and P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar (2019) turned out to be duds at the ticket window.
So, it was no surprise that they all but crashed on their first Monday. Laal Kaptaan, starring Saif Ali Khan, earned the most of the three films, but Rs25 lakh was all it could manage, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. The Navdeep Singh film has so far made a grand collection of Rs2 crore nett.
Vikram Bhatt's Ghost also added Rs25 lakh to its kitty, talking its overall total to Rs1.60 crore nett in four days.
The numbers of P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar were worse. It made Rs5 lakh nett yesterday and its grand total stands at just Rs65 lakh. But it at least found some audience despite having two newcomers in the lead. There were six other films that were released last week which did not even find an audience worth speaking of.
As expected, this flop show benefited the holdover film War (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, which made a cool Rs2 crore nett on its third Monday, more than all the nine releases put together. The Siddharth Anand film has so far made a mammoth Rs285.88 crore and is already the year's highest grossing Hindi film.
