Hirkani teaser: Glimpse of a mother’s daunting mission to return to her child

Director Prasad Oak’s Hirkani is about a mother’s valiant effort to return to her baby against great physical odds. The first teaser for the film gives us a glimpse of the protagonist, played by Sonalee Kulkarni, and her mission.

The teaser shows the moment of Hirkani missing out on the closing of the gates of Raigad fort by mere seconds, leaving her stranded inside. The gates will now open only at sunrise the next day.

We are shown glimpses of how Hirkani goes down the hill barefoot. Her dangerous mission instantly makes you root for her. Kulkarni appears determined in the role of the protagonist. 

We just hope the makers don’t reveal too much about the journey in the trailer as the teaser itself has shown quite a bit.

The story takes place in the 17th century when Shivaji held Raigad. According to his strict orders, the main gates of the fort are to be shut at sunset. Hirkani, who sells milk inside the fort, is delayed one day and the gates close. She then has no option but to find another, perilous route down because her hungry infant will be awaiting her return.

Shivaji plays a major role in the story but the makers will reveal the identity of the actor who plays the character only when the film is released.
