It might have had its one week advantage over Bala (2019), but Ujda Chaman (2019) seems to have taken off to a slow start. The Abhishek Pathak film managed to post a collection of Rs7.25 crore over its first weekend at the counters.

According to numbers from BoxOfficeIndia.com, Pathak's film opened with an average collection of Rs1.75 crore nett on Friday. However, the weekend saw the collection increase by day. On Saturday, the film's collection went to Rs2.50 crore nett. On Sunday, this figure grew further with Rs3 crore.

This puts the nett total collection of film at Rs7.25 crore till date. The film has been made at a low budget of Rs7 crore, and has already recovered the sum. However, the likelihood of the film sustaining this growth into its second week will depend on its Monday collections.

Similarly, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar-led Saand Ki Aankh (2019) added Rs5.65 crore over the weekend. The film collected Rs1.25 crore on Friday, Rs1.90 crore on Saturday and Rs2.50 crore on Sunday. This takes the film's overall collection to Rs17.55 crore nett. While it has impressed critics and audiences, the collections remain low.

The one film that seems to dominate despite critical opinion is Housefull 4. The film finished off with Rs31 crore nett on the weekend, according to figures from BoxOfficeIndia.com. This is bigger than Akshay Kumar-starrer Kesari's second weekend collections earlier this year.

Housefull 4 touched the Rs145 crore mark on Saturday, before adding another 23 crores over the next two days. This puts the total collections of the comedy ensemble at Rs168 crore nett.

The Farhad Samji film has been made at a budget of Rs170 crore reportedly. This ensures that the film might need to go on an extensive run to be declared a hit.

With Ayushmann Khurrana leading Bala into theatres the next week, the collections for Housefull 4 might slow down a bit.
