Actor Pawan Kalyan, who distanced himself from acting after the debacle of Agnyaathavaasi (2018) and shifted focus on politics, is eyeing a strong comeback with two big projects.
It was officially announced over the weekend that Kalyan will star in the yet-untitled Telugu remake of Pink (2016). The project will be jointly bankrolled by Boney Kapoor and Dil Raju while Venu Sriram, known for MCA Middle Class Abbayi (2017), will direct.
Filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas has been roped in to pen the dialogues for the remake. If everything goes as planned, the film will be officially launched in January 2020.
Not long ago, reports emerged that Balakrishna would star in Telugu remake of Pink. Looks like these reports were mere speculations.
The Tamil version of Pink, Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) which released earlier this year, starred Ajith in the role of a lawyer with bipolar issues. Directed by H Vinoth, Nerkonda Paarvai went on to strike gold at the box office with its worldwide gross over Rs150 crore.
Meanwhile, fresh reports have emerged that Kalyan has signed another project which will mark his maiden collaboration with director Krish Jagarlamudi.
Apparently, Krish and Kalyan are joining hands for a period drama which will be produced by AM Rathnam. Nayanthara has been approached for the leading lady’s part.
Krish and Nayanthara have previously worked together in Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum (2012). The rest of the cast and crew are expected to be announced soon.
Reliable sources have confirmed that Krish’s project may likely take off in December as the makers are eyeing a summer 2020 release.
