Just when we were bemoaning the lack of good, original songs in Hindi films, along comes the Kabir Singh album. After ‘Bekhayali’, the second track from the film also warrants repeat listening.

‘Tujhe Kitna Chahne Lage’ is a Mithoon composition. He has written and composed the romantic track which finds Shahid Kapoor’s titular character, Kabir Singh, ruminating over his lost love.

Kabir Singh takes off to be away from the city, and mopes around alone, remembering Preeti (Kiara Advani).

Of course, Arijit Singh is the singer on this track. His voice is especially suited to romantic numbers such as these. Mithoon allows the track to ebb and flow, as the memories overcome Kabir. Thankfully, the score complies and doesn’t intrude on Arijit Singh’s vocals, which remain the focal point of the song.

Arijit has wonderful control in ‘Tujhe Kitna Chahne Lage’. The song has a measured opening and grows further with the singer crooning out his emotions by the end.

Kabir Singh, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is due to be released on 21 June. Watch the song below.
