While it is based on the World Cup, Abhishek Sharma's The Zoya Factor (2019) will not open in theatres till September. The film is set for a release on 20 September. The film is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Anuja Chauhan.

Featuring Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Dulquer Salmaan, the film will revolve around the adventures of an advertising executive, Zoya Singh Solanki, who finds herself travelling abroad with the Indian cricket team as a good luck charm. Zoya's birth coincides at the same moment that India won their first World Cup in 1983.

The makers released a new poster for the film, with Sonam Kapoor Ahuja tagging the post as 'We're back after a strategic timeout.'

The film will mark Salmaan's second major Hindi feature after Karwaan (2018). The actor will be essaying the role of the captain of the Indian cricket team.

Incidentally, while the film is based around cricket and World Cup, the makers have chosen to avoid a release in the upcoming World Cup tournament in England, where the first title was won. The Zoya Factor was originally due to release on 14 June.
