Sumitra Bhave, Sunil Sukthankar’s Welcome Home to release on 14 June

The director duo of Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar have been impressing the audience with a series of well-made and meaningful films over the decades. Their next Marathi movie is titled Welcome Home and it features Mrinal Kulkarni in the lead.

An official statement from the makers revealed more about the film: “The film is based on the idea of home. It tries finding an answer to the question as to which home can a woman call her own.” The makers have also shared a poster of the film.

Apart from Kulkarni, the film has a long list of cast which includes Sumeet Raghvan, Subodh Bhave, Jitendra Joshi, Spruha Joshi, Dr Mohan Agashe, Renuka Daftardar, Ashwini Giri, Iravati Harshe, Deepa Shriram, Uttara Baokar, Seva Chauhan, Siddharth Menon, Milind Pathak and others.

Raghvan and Bhave will be seen sharing screen for the first time after Ani... Dr Kashinath Ghanekar (2018), where they played real theatre legends Dr Kashinath Ghanekar and Dr Shreeram Lagoo.

Bhave and Sukthankar have a list of acclaimed films that include Doghi (1995), Devrai (2004), Vastupurush (2005), Ek Cup Chya (2009), Ha Bharat Majha (2012), Samhita (2013), Astu: So be It (2014) and Kaasav (2017).

Bhave has gone solo for an upcoming film titled Dithee, which will be the first time that the duo hasn’t collaborated for a film.  

Welcome Home will be released on 14 June.
