Box office: SOTY2 steadies with Rs55 crore in the first week

Punit Malhotra's Student Of The Year 2 (2019) managed average first-week collections of Rs55 crore according to the numbers at BoxOfficeIndia.com. Despite the film's bad review, Punit Malhotra's directorial has turned in a steady return in its first week. 

After earning Rs37.75 crore on the weekend, the film went through a drop during the weekdays. Monday, saw the film turn in Rs5.25 crore, and the drop continued steadily with Rs4.75 crore on Tuesday, and Rs4 crore on Wednesday. 

Thursday saw the film's collections even drop further to Rs3.50 crores according to BoxOfficeIndia.com 

With the Ajay Devgn-Tabu led comedy, De De Pyaar De (2019) set to release today, these collections will endure a further hit.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood blockbuster Avengers: Endgame (2019) continued its run by turning in Rs20.50 crore at the end of its third week. The film has been breaking records across the world, and now has a total of Rs356 crore nett in three weeks.
