Sunny Kaushal and Radhika Madan are been signed opposite each other in director Kunal Deshmukh’s Shiddat: Journey Beyond Love. Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, the movie also stars Mohit Raina and Diana Penty.

The makers announced the film through a title poster today. The film is written by Shridhar Raghavan and Dheeraj Rattan.

Sunny is the younger brother of actor Vicky Kaushal and the son of action director Sham Kaushal. His last outing was the Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold (2018), where he played a Sikh hockey player Himmat Singh.

His character in the film triumphs in the end and plays a major role in making team India win gold in the 1948 Olympics. This will be Sunny’s fourth film. He debuted in Sunshine Music Tours & Travel (2016) and has Bhangra Paa Le (2019) up his sleeve.

“It has two parallel tracks focussing on the journey of both couples,” said a source to the daily tabloid, Mumbai Mirror. The report also mentions that the film will be shot in Punjab, Paris and London.

Speaking about the film, Vijan told the publication, “Shiddat is not only a story about love but the distance one travels for it. The passion that overcomes maybe all senses or logic to do things that you wouldn’t usually imagine, the belief in something with all your heart and the drive to achieve it — that’s Shiddat.”

Madan has impressed in her short career so far. She was appreciated in her debut film Patakha (2018), directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. She continued her good work in her second film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2019). She already has Vijan's Angrezi Medium (2020) up her sleeve where she is working alongside Irrfan Khan.

Shiddat will be the comeback for Deshmukh after the debacle of Raja Natwarlal (2014). He is known for helming the Jannat franchise. This will be his first film which doesn’t star Emraan Hashmi.
