Actor Ram Pothineni, most popular for films such as Dhee (2007) and Ready (2008), may star in the Telugu remake of recent Tamil hit, Thadam (2019), starring Arun Vijay in dual roles. The remake is expected to be produced by Ram’s uncle and popular producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, along with Tagore Madhu.

Cinema Express quoted a source as saying, “Talks have been initiated with the makers of the original, and both parties will reach an agreement soon.”

Ram is currently shooting for Puri Jagannadh’s iSmart Shankar in Goa, and he’s also likely to do a sequel with Puri soon.

Apparently, producer Ravi Kishore has watched the film and he wants to remake it with Ram.

“It is too early to talk about the remake. We have watched the film and we really liked it. Ram is yet to watch and we can only take a call on the remake after he watches. He’s currently busy shooting for iSmart Shankar,” Ravi Kishore was quoted saying in a recent media interaction.

Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, Thadam features Arun Vijay in dual roles as twin brothers. It’s a crime thriller inspired from a few real-life unsolved crimes featuring twin brothers.

Meanwhile, Thadam has emerged as a box office hit and has given its director Magizh Thirumeni his maiden big success in many years.
