Vijay Deverakonda’s Hero to start rolling from 22 April

Arjun Reddy (2017) breakout star Vijay Deverakonda, who will be seen playing a professional biker in his upcoming film Hero, will start shooting for the project from 22 April in New Delhi, its makers announced on Wednesday.
To be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, the film will mark the directorial debut of Anand Annamalai.
“Mighty glad to announce our Production No. 9 with @TheDeverakonda to be directed by Anand Annamalai in all south Indian languages titled "HERO". Shoot starts on 22nd April in New Delhi (sic),” read a tweet from the makers.
Deverakonda is currently busy wrapping up Dear Comrade, in which he plays a student leader. Rashmika Mandanna plays the leading lady.
If everything goes as planned, he might be simultaneously shooting for Hero and a yet-untitled romantic drama with director Kranthi Madhav.
It’s worth mentioning that following the success of 2018's Geetha Govindam and Taxiwaala outside the Telugu states, Deverakonda is going all out to project himself a south Indian star, courtesy by releasing his upcoming films in all south Indian languages.
He recently revealed that Dear Comrade will be released in four south Indian languages. The film’s teaser will be released on 17 March in four languages.
Meanwhile, Malavika Mohanan, last seen in Rajinikanth’s Petta (2019), has been signed as the leading lady in Hero, according to trusted sources. This project will mark her Telugu debut.
Post Petta, Malavika had said in an interview to The Indian Express that she’s open to work across industries and languages.
