Director Raghava Lawrence has returned to take the helm of his upcoming thriller, Laxmmi Bomb (2020). The film, a remake of Lawrence's Muni 2: Kanchana (2011), will feature Akshay Kumar in the lead as a timid man possessed by the spirit of a dead transgender.

The director had earlier stated that he will be walking out of the project owing to lack of 'respect'. The actor-director had put up a post stating, 'In this world, more than money and fame, self-respect is the most important attribute to a person's character. So I have decided to step out of the project Laxmmi Bomb, the Hindi remake of Kanchana.'

One of the reasons for the spat was that the makers had released the first look of the film without any prior intimation to Lawrence. However, the director had stated that he was just as 'disappointed' at the differences as the fans.

However, it now appears that the makers have met with Lawrence and buried the hatchet. The filmmaker is set to return to take up the reins of the film featuring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani.

He confirmed the news himself on Twitter saying 'As you wished I would like to let you know that I am back on board as a director of Laxmmi Bomb with Akshay Kumar.'

Laxmmi Bomb is due to be released in 2020.
