Actress Anjali, who is looking forward to the release of her forthcoming Tamil action drama Sindhubaadh (2019), recently returned from Seattle, Washington, where she completed shooting the first schedule of the upcoming multilingual thriller Silence.
Silence also stars R Madhavan, Anushka Shetty, Shalini Pandey and veteran Hollywood actor Michael Madsen in important roles.
In her latest media interaction, Anjali revealed she plays a US-based cop in Silence in which Shetty plays a deaf-mute character while Madhavan plays her husband.
Tipped to be an investigative thriller, the story centres on the murder of an important character and the subsequent police investigation.
Talking about her role, she said: “Unlike the cop roles we play in Indian films, this one required me to take special classes to understand how the cops behave and work in the US. From their body language to the way they speak and hold their guns, it was all a very new experience and I really enjoyed prepping for this character.”
Being directed by Hemant Madhukar, the second schedule of the film, which will be released in Telugu, Hindi, English and Tamil, will begin in July. Madhavan and Shetty are expected to join the team then.
Anjali also confirmed signing a heroine-centric film in Tamil. “It’s too early to reveal details, but all I can say is that it’s going to be very special. I’ll start shooting from August as my portion in Silence will be wrapped up in July," she said.
