Though his Bhootchakra Pvt Ltd is yet to get a release date, filmmaker Haranath Chakraborty has started shooting for his next film, a suspense thriller starring Ritwick Chakraborty and Parno Mittra.

The film's title has not been decided yet, but veteran actor Ranjit Mallick will be seen playing a pivotal role in it.

Ritwick Chakraborty will play screenwriter Atin and Mittra will be seen as school teacher Esha in the film. Atin chooses serene Kalimpong to write a script and takes his girlfriend along. They ignore all warnings and take up lodging in a house that is believed by locals to be haunted. Then Esha suddenly dies in suspicious circumstances.

Mallick's character, a police officer, begins investigating the matter and starts to unravel secrets of the house going back several years.

Ranjit Mallick was earlier seen in Purnendu Bikash Chaki's comedy film Honeymoon (2018).

The script for the film has been written by Padmanabha Dasgupta. According to a report in The Telegraph newspaper, Ritwick Chakraborty was shooting for another film when Dasgupta narrated the script to him and the actor liked it instantly.

Haranath Chakraborty said, “Ritwick and Parno are both brilliant actors. Also, the audience will see Ranjit Mallick in a different avatar. There are a lot of twists in the film with elements of horror.”

The film will mostly be shot in Kolkata and Kalimpong.
