Earlier this week, filmmaker Rohit Shetty avoided his film Sooryavanshi’s clash with Salman Khan’s Inshallah on Eid next year. Salman Khan made the announcement on his Twitter handle by sharing a picture with Shetty and calling him his ‘younger brother’.

However, this didn’t go down well with a section of the fans of Akshay Kumar, who stars in Sooryavanshi. They started trolling Shetty for allegedly bowing to Salman Khan. The hashtag #BhagodaRohitShetty began trending on Twitter.

Finally, Akshay Kumar was compelled to intervene to calm down his fans. In an emotional appeal on Twitter, he wrote, “Since the past few days l have noticed certain negative trends being done by people dearest to me... you guys. I can see and understand your angst, all I can do is request you all with folded hands not to start/participate in such trends.”

He also urged his fans to maintain a positive atmosphere. “I took up Sooryavanshi with a very positive outlook, let's continue making and releasing it in the same way,” he said.

Sooryavanshi is Shetty’s third cop drama after the Singham series and Simmba (2018). Akshay Kumar gave a glimpse of his Sooryavanshi character in the very last scene of Simmba. There are expectations of Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh appearing in Sooryavanshi as Singham and Simmba, respectively.
