The title of director Sanjay Gupta’s next gangster film, starring John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi has been announced. The film is called Mumbai Saga.

The makers have also revealed the rest of the ensemble cast of the film, including Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Amole Gupte, Prateik Babbar and Rohit Roy.

During the previous announcement, the makers had said that the film is based in the 1980s and 1990s. They have shared the tagline today – The shocking true story of Bombay becoming Mumbai. As we all know, Bombay was renamed as Mumbai in 1996.

Mumbai Saga is Gupta’s return to his favourite genre of gangster movies after Shootout At Wadala (2013), the successor to his own Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007).

The 2013 film also had an ensemble cast which includes actor John Abraham, who is cast once again by Gupta. He played the real-life don Manya Surve in it. This will be the second time that Hashmi is starring in a period gangster film after Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010)

Shroff reunites with filmmaker Gupta after Ramshastra (1995) and Jung (2000). As the film is completely Mumbai based, one can expect the actor to speak in his typical Mumbai lingo.

Mumbai Saga is jointly produced under Gupta’s banner White Feather Films and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
