Anurag Kashyap might be keeping a low profile these days, but the director's work is certainly continuous. Kashyap has now begun work on another project, and has cast Malayalam actor Roshan Matthew in the lead role.

The news was confirmed by Roshan's Moothon director, Geetu Mohandas herself.

Mohandas is the common thread between Roshan and Kashyap, since the actor is the lead in Mohandas's upcoming bilingual film, Moothon. The film is also co-written and produced by Anurag Kashyap.

As an actor, Roshan is a graduate of the Drama School, Mumbai, and spent eight years on the theatre circuit before turning to films. He made his debut in the Malayalam film, Adi Kaapyare Koottamani (2015) before Anandam (2016). The actor was last seen in Thottappan (2019), in the role of an antagonist.

Kashyap has been involved in the production of the Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer Saand Ki Aankh (2019). The director split ways with his collaborators Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl causing the shutdown of Phantom Films. His last film, Manmarziyaan (2018) was produced by Phantom Films.
