Well-known South Indian comic actors Brahmanandam and Sunil Varma will be featuring in a Hindi film for the first time in upcoming horror comedy Koka Kola. Directed by Prasad Tathineni, the film stars Canadian-Indian actress Sunny Leone and the Iran-born model and actress Mandana Karimi.

Speaking about the casting of the two comic stars, producer Mahendra Dhariwal said in an official statement, “Our director Prasadji has done a lot of films down South and it was his idea to rope them in for the film. We are happy to have both actors on board. They are masters of comedy and will add a lot of value to the film.”

Brahmanandam is a veteran who has played comical characters in over 1,100 films. He is also popular in the Hindi belt where dubbed South Indian films draw huge audiences on television. The actor has made cameo appearances in Sooryavansham (1998) and Welcome Back (2015), but Koka Kola will be his first proper role in a Hindi film.

Varma, who is known as simply Sunil, has acted in over 170 Telugu movies as a comedian. He has also played the lead in a few films, including SS Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna (2010). But he has never featured in a Hindi film before.

Koka Kola went on the floors last month in a start-to-finish schedule in NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh.
