Box office: De De Pyaar De continues its steady run

Hollywood films Godzilla 2 and the live action Aladdin, starring Will Smith, also made an impact at the ticket counters.

Though it has been two weeks now since its release, De De Pyaar De (2019) starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Rakul Preet Singh continues to be the Hindi film of choice at the multiplexes.

The comedy earned Rs1.75 crore on its third Friday and has now earned over Rs80 crore in its steady run so far, according to numbers shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

It has finally surpassed its budget of Rs78 crore and could go on to draw audiences even with Salman Khan's Bharat (2019), co-starring Katrina Kaif, arriving on the Eid holiday, 5 June.

Meanwhile, Hollywood films Godzilla 2 (which opened on Thursday 30 May) and the live action Aladdin also registered a strong presence. The monster film earned Rs5.50 crore in its first two days, while Aladdin, starring Will Smith, crossed Rs31.25 crore nett as it reached its second Friday. The musical is likely to reach Rs40 crore by the end of its second week.
