Earlier this month, the Bombay high court dropped charges of contempt of court against producer Gaurang Doshi. Last year he was sentenced for six months imprisonment in civil prison for contempt of court. Doshi had failed to abide by the court's earlier orders to deposit Rs1.25 crore and furnish assets in a case that was filed against Doshi in October 2017 by Scorg International Consulting Private Limited and its director claiming they had given him Rs1 crore to produce Aankhen 2.
Doshi has now given his first reaction on the matter in an official statement. “Everyone sees ups and downs in life and I think overall I’ve been fortunate to be able to do what I really love. While there have been a few imposed hiccups, and maybe there will be more, all I intend to do is focus on work, create something incredible and continue to bring audiences the kind of content they want to see,” he said.
The producer now wants to focus on creating a web-series. “I’ve been watching the digital space and I love how cutting edge the content is. Each product brings its own uniqueness to the screen and I hope that I’ll be able to create content that can enthrall audiences,” he added.
Doshi is known for producing well known films like Aankhen (2002) and Deewar: Let's Bring Our Heroes Home (2005); both starring Amitabh Bachchan.
