Saand Ki Aankh teaser: Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar line up their mark

Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar are super cool grandmothers in the Diwali release, Saand Ki Aankh. The film, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, finds the actresses as young sisters-in-law Chandro and Prakashi Tomar who take up sharpshooting when they are in their 50s.
Based on a true story, the film explores how the lives of the Tomar women are changed when Dr Rajpal (Vineet Kumar Singh) introduces them to the sport of sharpshooting. From the brief teaser, it appears that the two women go up against their family and village to fulfil their dreams.
Both Chandro (Pednekar) and Prakashi (Pannu) have a fun yet determined approach to the sport. They use their years of experience to become champions. However, once again, our only quibble with the film, is the casting of Pannu and Pednekar even as the older versions of Prakashi and Chandro. The fake wrinkles are just not cutting it.
Additionally, it would have been a great opportunity for older actresses to play the grandmothers, seeing as there are such few leading roles available for women of a certain age.
Produced by Reliance Entertainment and Nidhi Parmar, Saand Ki Aankh is due to be released this Diwali, 25 October.
