After an indifferent 2018, Akshay Kumar will look to roar back to form in 2019. The star has four films lined up, two of them from Karan Johar's Dharma Productions stable.
First up is Dharma's period war film Kesari, which is slated for release on 22 April. Next will come Fox Star Studio’s Independence Day release Mission Mangal (15 August), followed by Dharma's Good News, which has now been slotted for 6 September.
Akshay Kumar will look to round off the year with Housefull 4, the fourth film in the comedy franchise, which is currently lined up for a Diwali release.
The release dates of Kesari, Mission Mangal and Housefull 4 were known earlier, and the star announced today the release date of Good News.

As of now, Good News, directed by first-timer Raj Mehta and also featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, does not face any competition from a big-budget release on 6 September.
Akshay Kumar had accidentally revealed the film's title in an interview with senior film journalist Rajeev Masand last year. The actor had also mentioned that the film is based on a true story.
Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan were last seen together in Sabir Khan’s Kambakkht Ishq (2009). Good News will be the first film together for Akshay Kumar, Dosanjh and Advani.
Dosanjh had shared screen space with Kareena Kapoor Khan in Udta Punjab (2016). Raj Mehta has earlier assisted on films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) and Kapoor & Sons (2016).
