Noted filmmaker Riingo Banerjee’s next project is hunter-turned-conservationist Jim Corbett’s biopic.

The director, known for his films such as Kranti (2006) and Jodi Ekdin (2010), wishes to convey important messages on wildlife conservation through this film.

“I plan to make a full length feature film on Jim Corbett. It is my dream project and I have been researching on this particular subject for quite some time. These days we are raising our voice for wildlife preservation but just think in the past how we have destroyed our tiger population. Jim Corbett was literally a crusader in saving the wildlife surrounding Nainital,” stated the director in an interview with The Times Of India.

The director is currently writing the script of the film, hoping that it will go on the floors from mid-September 2019.

“There are a lot of issues of preservation of tigers so I thought on making a film on it. In this film, we will see Jim Corbett not only as a hunter, but also a man who loves tigers and only killed the ones who were man-eaters,” added the director.

Banerjee is also currently working on his next release Senapati.
