The name Rocky for the hero of an action film is a tried and tested cliché. The trailer for newcomer Sandeep Salve’s Marathi film Rocky suggests it is nothing short of a clichéd action film either.

Many Hindi movie television channels show South Indian action films dubbed in Hindi. Most of these have a righteous hero fighting the bad guys or evil forces. First-time director Adnan A Shaikh’s Rocky seems to be in the same vein.

Salve plays a muscular man who falls in love with a girl. Rocky can’t bear injustice. This brings a tragic turn in his life. Now he comes face-to-face with the evil politician Nana (Rahul Dev).

Put simply, the trailer is full of run-of-the-mill fight scenes. The hero is pushed to the wall and the outcome is predictable.

The trailer also shows glimpses of well-known Marathi artistes Santosh Juvekar, Kranti Redkar and Yatin Karyekar.

Director Shaikh was assistant director on the superhit Hindi film Baaghi 2 (2018), which had Tiger Shroff in the lead.

Rocky will be released on 8 March. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film in the theatres.
