Actress Nithya Menon is set to make her debut on the digital platform with the second season of the Amazon Prime Original series, Breathe. The second season of the psychological thriller will also see Abhishek Bachchan join the cast, with Amit Sadh returning to play the role of inspector Kabir Sawant.

The actress shared the announcement on her social media account.

In a quote to The Hindu newspaper, the actress said, "Amazon Prime’s Breathe came at a time when Indian-made web series had not really taken off. I had seen its out-of-the-box posters. When I got the opportunity to do Season 2, my gut feeling told me to take it up."

In addition to the digital series, the actress will also be seen in the Akshay Kumar-Vidya Balan-led ensemble drama, Mangalyaan, later this year.

Produced by Abundantia Entertainment, director of the series Mayank Sharma welcomed the actress to the cast through his social media account.

The second season will also see Bachchan enter the digital space for the first time. The actor ended last year with the successful Manmarziyaan (2018), and also has an untitled film with Anurag Basu, and Gulab Jamun on his list for the year.

Bachchan also tweeted out to Menon welcoming her to 'the chaos'.

The first season of the series saw Sadh's Kabir Sawant go up against R Madhavan's distraught father hunting down people to get the right organ for his child.

Written by Bhavani Iyer, Vikram Tuli and Arshad Syed, the second season will be directed by Mayank Sharma.
