The music of Sanjhbati was launched yesterday, 4 November, at Acropolis Mall, Kolkata in the presence of co-directors Leena Gangopadhyay, Saibal Banerjee, cast Dev Adhikari, Paoli Dam and Lily Chakraborty. and music composer Anupam Roy. Sanjhabti attempts to explore the plight of elderly people who often lead life in negligence as their children shift away from them.

Roy has composed and written three songs for the film, 'Bishorjon', 'Khoma Koro' and 'Kagojer Bari'. 'Bishorjon', rendered by Shaan, had an early release during Durga Puja. 'Kagojer Nouka' has been sung by Anweshaa and Roy has lent his voice for 'Khoma Koro'.

“I am sure that Sanjhbati will touch the hearts of the audience. I did not have much difficulty in composing the songs. Both Leena and Saibal da explained me the moods and the situations with enough clarity and I could compose three songs for three different moods," Roy explained, and said that with the cast's portrayal on screen, the song will be elevated to a different mood.

Dam feels that Roy has composed the songs with a completely different approach. "The song 'Bishorjon' was launched long back. I love that song. We normally think of Bishorjon as a moment of sadness and separation with Maa Durga. However, this song presents Bishorjon with a rhythm of happiness” added the actress, who plays Phuli, a caretaker of Chakraborty in the film.

Dev, on the other hand, recalled the music launch of Zulfiqar (2016) three years ago, that took place at Acropolis Mall, at the presence of Roy and Dam. He also encouraged the entire team to dance to the beat of 'Bishorjon', an upbeat song from the film.

Sanjhbati, which also stars Soumitra Chatterjee, is slated for release on 20 December 2020.
