The latest song, 'Kagojer Bari' from Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee’s upcoming film Sanjhbati (2019) is a soothing number that fits the mood of a vacation, away from hustles of urban life. Written and composed by Anupam Roy, some of the words of the song throw light on the idea of the simple joys of life that matter the most.

The lyrics are written with the intention to paint a similar soothing ambience of the hills, that one enjoys amidst the golden sun. In the visuals, we see Lily Chakraborty, Paoli Dam, Dev Adhikari and Sohini Sengupta are going on a trip to Darjeeling, West Bengal through the serene roads between the hills. The words of the song elaborate their feelings as they tend to forget the complications of city life, revelling in the lush greenery.

Sanjhbati tells the story of two elderly and lonely parents, played by Soumitra Chatterjee and Lily Chakraborty, who are not looked after by their aloof children. While Phuli (Dam) takes care of Sulekha (Chakraborty), Chadu gives company to Chhana Dadu (Chatterjee).

The tune of the song is simple and Anweshaa’s soft vocal infuses a refreshing mood that is evident in the visuals of the vacation. Also, though the trailer hinted the equation between Chadu and Phuli, the song reveals some moments of them having secret romantic rendezvous in the lap of nature.

The vacation turns into their sweet retreat, an abode of warmth for all the four characters. However, Sengupta’s character and role in the story has not been revealed yet.

Sanjhbati is slated for release on 20 December. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
