Taapsee Pannu is set to play an athlete in her next film, Rashmi Rocket. Produced by RSVP Films, the venture will be directed by Akarsh Khurana, who made his debut in 2018 with the stoner comedy, High Jack.

Pannu has previously played a hockey player in Soorma (2018), and will be playing a national-level shooting champion in the upcoming Saand Ki Aankh (2019).

Reports suggest that the film will follow the journey of a fictional athlete, Rashmi, an untrained runner from Kutch.

In a statement to the publication DNA, Pannu said,"The story instantly hit the right chord when I heard the idea. It was one of those few films I was waiting to be developed into a film for me to do.

Akarsh Khurana previously directed Karwaan (2018) with Irrfan Khan and Dulquer Salmaan for Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Films. Rashmi Rocket is expected to begin filming soon.
