Although he made his debut in 1988 in a supporting role, Sooraj Barjatya's Maine Pyaar Kiya (1989), which released the following year launched Khan into superstardom. The actor joined Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan to form the trinity that ruled the Hindi film industry in the decades to follow.
Last seen in Bharat (2019), the actor has been in the news lately for the shelved project of Inshaallah, with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The project would have marked the reunion of the director-actor combination after a 20 year gap.
Despite the shelving, Khan's next projects are Dabanngg 3 (2019), due to be released this Christmas, and Kick 2 with producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala.
