Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas title song: Arijit Singh, Parampara Thakur shine in this romantic melody

Sung by Arijit Singh and Parampara Thakur, the song is composed by Sachet-Parampara.

Shriram Iyengar

Sunny Deol's directorial venture, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is eschewing every bone of the action that the director-actor is known for. The film will feature Karan Deol and Sahher Bamba in their debuts, and looks to be a sweet love story, and the music for the film is built around the theme.

The latest title song composed by Sachet-Parampara captures the romance of the two youngsters.

The visuals of the song are a little confusing, with the song beginning in what looks like a pub. The pub is the location for the reunion of the two lovers, who finally confess to each other. Cue romantic sequences in the rain, as expected in a proper commercial Hindi film.

The song composed by Sachet-Parampara starts off shakily, but improves as it goes on. While it does not have the usual structure of rhyming verses, the song does have a melodious undercurrent running through it. Arijit Singh and Parampara Thakur bring on the voices to match the composition.

Singh's control and poise is evident, even when the song switches from Hindi to Punjabi mid-way. Incidentally, the singer is matched step to step by Thakur who does a good job.

The lyrics by Siddharth-Garima are a little disappointing. Known for their wonderful balance of metaphors and imagery, this song does not fall under the same bracket as their better works. Regardless, the lyrics fade out of focus with the singers taking over the composition.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is set to release in theatres on 20 September 2019.
