Karan Malhotra's upcoming film, Shamshera (2020), starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor, is heading to Ladakh. The action film, directed by Karan Malhotra, will become the first film shot in Ladakh after its status as a union territory.
The leads, Ranbir and Vaani, have reportedly left for the shoot in Ladakh, according to a source on the film's production. "[Malhotra] was certain that he wanted to shoot some of the most crucial portions of the film in Ladakh because it would add to the visual appeal of the film," the source said.
Samshera, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, is said to contain large sets to recreate an era when dacoits reigned. Dutt plays the antagonist to Ranbir's hero and Vaani is part of the cast as a beautiful travelling performer.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, Shamshera is due to be released on 30 July 2020.
